Rayzors Foundation to Announce Mental Health Awareness 7th Inning Stretch at Sahlen Field

Press conference will unveil new week-long baseball and softball fundraiser supporting mental health across Western New York

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Rayzors Foundation will hold a press conference at Sahlen Field on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 2 p.m. to officially announce the Mental Health Awareness 7th Inning Stretch, a new week-long baseball and softball fundraiser coming to Western New York August 14–21, 2027.

The inaugural 7th Inning Stretch will bring together baseball and softball players, families, businesses and community members for a common purpose: raising mental health awareness, reducing stigma and supporting local mental health programs.

Inspired by Western New York’s successful 11 Day Power Play, the 7th Inning Stretch will use the power of sports to encourage open conversations about mental health and remind individuals and families that help is available and no one has to face mental health challenges alone.

The 7th Inning Stretch will run 24 hours a day for seven consecutive days, August 14–21, 2027, featuring youth and adult baseball and softball players competing at Frontier High School in Hamburg, N.Y. The event will culminate on its final day, August 21, with the final games and a Home Run Derby at Sahlen Field, home of the Buffalo Bisons.

All proceeds will remain in Western New York, supporting local mental health organizations and resources, including BryLin Hospital, Children’s Psychiatry Clinic, Christian Counseling Ministries of WNY, Horizon Health Services, Mental Health Advocates of WNY and others.

Founded in 2023 by Kimberly Steiner and Jeffrey Walker, the Rayzors Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and funding for mental health programs throughout Western New York.
