Rayzors Foundation to Announce Mental Health Awareness 7th Inning Stretch at Sahlen Field
Press conference will unveil new week-long baseball and softball fundraiser supporting mental health across Western New York
BUFFALO, N.Y.ย โ Theย Rayzors Foundationย will hold a press conference atย Sahlen Field on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 2 p.m.ย to officially announce theย Mental Health Awareness 7th Inning Stretch, a new week-long baseball and softball fundraiser coming to Western New Yorkย August 14โ21, 2027.
The inaugural 7th Inning Stretch will bring together baseball and softball players, families, businesses and community members for a common purpose:ย raising mental health awareness, reducing stigma and supporting local mental health programs.
Inspired by Western New York’s successful 11 Day Power Play, the 7th Inning Stretch will use the power of sports to encourage open conversations about mental health and remind individuals and families thatย help is available and no one has to face mental health challenges alone.
Theย 7th Inning Stretch will run 24 hours a day for seven consecutive days, August 14โ21, 2027, featuring youth and adult baseball and softball players competing atย Frontier High School in Hamburg, N.Y.ย The event will culminate on its final day, August 21, with the final games and aย Home Run Derby at Sahlen Field, home of the Buffalo Bisons.
All proceeds will remain in Western New York, supporting local mental health organizations and resources, includingย BryLin Hospital, Children’s Psychiatry Clinic, Christian Counseling Ministries of WNY, Horizon Health Services, Mental Health Advocates of WNYย and others.
Founded in 2023 byย Kimberly Steiner and Jeffrey Walker, the Rayzors Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and funding for mental health programs throughout Western New York.
Members of the media are invited to attend the September 2 press conference at Sahlen Field.ย Additional details about the 2027 tournament, including registration, sponsorship opportunities and special events, will be announced during the press conference and throughout the coming months.
